1897 - US 593,138 Tesla’s Single Wire Power System Patent
Tesla’s patent used ground water as a conductor for 60 hertz single wire power transmission.
Tesla leveraged the telegraphs single wire return conductor.
Phone companies could not use the single wire conductor because you heard other people talking on your phone (crosstalk). Legal battles occurred over rights to use earth as a conductor.
1900 - Tesla Patent 645,576 “System of Transmission of Electrical Energy”.
Patent 645,576 is a high voltage transmission system using electrical energy propagation, by conduction, through the earth and the air strata. 250,000 hertz impulse energy from spark gaps are used instead alternating current.
This wireless system of transmission was developed in Colorado Springs in 1899.
The radio frequency transmission of electrical energy was not used in Tesla’s commercial design implemented at Wardenclyffe NY.
The motors and lamps are 60 hertz devices.
